Confidence, Relationships and Self Worth

Presenting Concern

A young man sought therapy due to longstanding difficulties with confidence, self-esteem and relationships. He often found himself withdrawing from potential partners or ending relationships prematurely.

What We Explored

Through therapy, we explored the impact of his father's absence during childhood and the beliefs he had developed about himself as a result. The work focused on understanding unresolved emotions, unconscious assumptions about rejection and how these experiences continued to influence relationships in the present day.

Outcome

As these experiences were better understood and processed, the client reported increased confidence, improved self-esteem and a greater ability to form and maintain meaningful relationships. He later entered into a stable long-term relationship
